New Deck

Well, it hasn't quite been a year since this blog has been updated. I wanted to apologize to my friends and rlatives who have been checking daily for any news, will no longer be disappointed. During the school year, I just don't time for much of any thing. So now that I have the better part of the summer off, I try to get caught up on all of the stuff that I haven't done for 9 months. Our couple of projects for this summer is a new roof (whoopee) and our deck.

We designed it for weeks and pretty much built it the way we had originally conceived it. It is not complete yet and the roof isn't on yet either, but I don't think there are

any decisions to make anymore, just cruising.

The steps to the backyard are not done yet. Actually the steps between the upper deck and lower deck are not done yet. But our contractor told us that we could use it - so we moved in.

Actually it has not yet been stained or sealed, so it will likely be a different color down the road. He wanted it to sit for six weeks before we stain it and it will probably take that long to decide what color it wants to be.

We also have two families of cats with kittens living on the front porch. If anyone needs a new one let me know. Maybe I can deliver some to Carols over the 4th and if noone needs them they

can keep Carol's lap warm all winter!

The first picture is taken from the back yard and shows the deck connecting to the sun room.

The second picture is of the lower deck that is actually on the North & East side of the house.

The third picture is kinda overall that shows the stairs down to the front yard (far lower right).

The fourth picture is of the stairs and the north side of the house.

Then the final picture is to try to get the whole concept from the woods. I have exciting plans for landscaping so stay tuned - this blog, same time next year.

Indy Indians lose in extra innnings!

Beautiful weather, good food and great company made up for the loss in extra innings. Lindy gets a back rub at the beginning of the 10th to the Durham Bulls. She now proudly wears the Indians cap as she returns to Peru for the evening. She spent the night (again with the special Holiday pillowcase), joined us for church, went to a dumb movie and shopping with Kevin, Sam and Brian before Andy returned her to Lafayette. Nap time for all, later.

Sun Room

I know, I know - if you are going to have a blog, you have and obligation to put something in it.
We have a new sun room that is unfurnished but has possibilities. Mostly it as been a reading room so far. It has a really neat view of the new trail. It also has a storage room below.

Here is a couple of pictures of our new room.....
We'd love to have visitors - although we're not quite as exciting as Ireland, Germany, California, or Arizona.
